Federal Skilled Worker
The Federal Skilled Worker Program is a program for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently.
Skilled workers are people with managerial experience in areas such as restaurants, mines and fishing boats , professionals with university degrees such a doctors, architects and dentists or people with technical skills like plumbers ,electricians and chefs . There are nearly 350 occupations outlined for the program.
Minimum Requirements
Every applicant must meet all 3 minimum requirements and get at least 67 points to qualify
Work Experience
1 year of continuous work experience in the last 10 years at a managerial or skilled occupation listed under the National Occupation Classification (NOC). It must be paid, full-time (30h/week) work experience, or the equivalent in part-time. Applicants get more points depending on the number of years they have spent doing a job under this list.
Education
Candidates must have at least a secondary school certificate to be accepted to the selection process. Postsecondary qualifications such as a college diploma or a university degree earn more points, and play a role in selection.
